Di Wu is an independent experimental artist and graphic designer who works across moving image, photography, visual poetry and graphic design. Her works explore the mundane aesthetic, often expressing her aesthetic and poetic responses to different places.
She founded and runs VERY ORDINARY AND, a Hong Kong-based creative studio dedicated to image-making and independent art publishing. The studio attempts to rethink the ontology and epistemology of art publication by breaking the boundaries between publications, daily art, mundane objects, moving images, and ephemerals. Meanwhile, the studio aims at assisting young artists in expressing their voices through designing and making publications and art products, hoping to represent their art practices with new poetics and visuality. As a transnational bridge, VERY ORDINARY AND also hopes to bring in independent publications beyond Hong Kong to this land to foster diverse conversation.
VERY ORDINARY AND had participated in multiple art book fairs and festivals such as Tokyo Art Book Fair 2025, Unlimited Edition 17 Seoul Art Book Fair 2025, Singapore Art Book Fair 2025, 2023, Booked: Hong Kong Art Book Fair 2024, 2022, 2021 and 2020 at Tai Kwun, Taipei Art Book Fair 2024 and 2018 at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, HK Zine and Print Fest 2017, Kowloon City Book Fair, etc.
Di completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Graphic Design, Moving Image Specialism at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London in 2016 and obtained her MFA in Creative Media from City University of Hong Kong in 2020. Di currently works and lives in Hong Kong.
